How can I address conflict with a neighbor?
Q. I have lived in my condo for over 16 years now and have been harassed by a neighbor who lives in my building for the entire time I have lived here.
What can I do about noise in my poorly soundproofed building?
Q. I am a first-time condo owner and have found out the hard way that the gutted/rehabbed building has extremely POOR insulation between floors. It is so bad that I am able to hear conversations and people snoring. What can be done? The bulding does NOT YET have an association. Is it the unit owner's responsibility to compensate for this? It is unbearable and I am considering replacing the hardwood floors or putting in carpeting. I would greatly appreciate your advice.
Are owners responsible for code violations found inside the walls?
Q. We own a small 1 bedroom, one bathroom semi-basement unit in Lincoln Square (13 units in the Condo Association). We discovered that rats (while never in our unit) were in the building. The Condo Association demanded that we tear down the walls in our bathroom so the Condo Board could learn how the rats were getting in.
