Q. My homeowner association has hired an attorney to lower taxes on all of the units, now they are chasing each owner for reimbursement on legal fees. This is what they are telling me. "The board has the right to make a decision for the association regarding the tax attorney." Does the home owners association or the board have a legal right to change individual unit owner’s taxes without that owner’s approval?
Q: I recently invested in three condos in a 16 unit condo building . I was later to find out the association was in severe debt due to all the foreclosures . My question is am I responsible for all the management fees that occurred during bad times were 15 out of the 16 units were not paying the HOA?
Q. I am the president of my condo association. Currently we have a unit that has been vacant for over a year, assessments have not been paid and is under contract for a short sale. The unit above is currently having swamp gas issues from the vacant abandoned unit.
