Haus Financial Services was launched in December 2007 with a single goal in mind—to help small, self-managing condominium associations find an alternative means of support to traditional property management, which did not appropriately address their unique needs. After more than 9 years working as an administrator for a small CPA firm, I was ready to move on to new adventures. I had long had a desire to begin my own business, but was never quite sure what that business might be. My work experience gave me a strong background in small business accounting and administration. In addition, my work as Treasurer of my 12-unit condo association taught me the ins and outs of condominium living. When I moved to a new condo building and turned over my Treasurer duties, I found that making the break wasn’t that easy. The new Treasurer was overwhelmed and we spent a lot of time on the phone. My now husband planted the seed for HausFS when he remarked “If she’s having that much trouble, there are probably a lot of other Treasurers in small buildings who could use some help.” And the mission for HausFS was born. HausFS has had the pleasure of working closely with many condominium Associations and individual Board members since then. We enjoy being a means of support to these hard-working owners, and our efforts are continually rewarded by their expressions of gratitude. We are always striving to provide new ways to support self-managed associations. I sincerely hope the Chicago Condo Resource will further that goal. Here’s to successful condo living!
